Mardi Gras is over.  Fat Tuesday 2015 was a blast!  Now it’s Lent and Seafood is on the menu…

Lent is a time for reflection, service, and sacrifice, – a solemn time – especially for all of us in the Calandro family with our Catholic roots as we prepare for Easter.  However, one thing that we always secretly relish during this time of the year is one of those “sacrifices” that really, in Louisiana, becomes a reason to focus in on what our state is know most for.  Our SEAFOOD.  So of course our write-ups and recipes in The Advocate’s “Eat. Play. Live.” section from 2/19/2015 has covered the Lent / Seafood season in great detail.  There’s a story on our incredible main seafood source in Louisiana Seafood Exchange and our longstanding relationship with their co-owner Robbie Walker.  We’ve highlighted one of our very best friends and local vendors, Lili Courtney, and her delightful dressings company – Delightful Palate.  Lili was even generous enough to take one of her very best, go-to seafood recipes – Shrimp & Grits – to include in the ad and fit the theme and the Lent season.  And folks – it looks absolutely delicious.

So take a look below at all of the Lenten Seafood goodness, come by and grab some of Robbie’s wonderful seafood, give Lili’s wonderful recipe a try, and then let us know how it all came out in the comments section at the bottom of the page!
